As part of my Day Zero Project, I will be answering the 50 Questions That Free Your Mind. For each of these, I will blog an answer and then it will be linked here as well. Some of these will have longer responses, some will be extremely short. But by the end of the Day Zero Project, I will have answered all of these.
No. 22: Why are you, you?
I truly don’t believe I looked through these questions fully when I decided to add it to my Day Zero Project.
If I had, I might have never done it, especially based on questions like this.
Why am I me?
Who the heck knows?
Years ago, I was born when the right swimmer made it through and created me. And I came out as this person. So I’m not sure how to answer this question.
I’ve been shaped by many things over the years:
- Locations I’ve been
That’s a lot of things.
I’m sure there are different aspects of each things that have shaped me into being who I am. But, like most others, I change. I have changed many times in my life. Sometimes for the better. Sometimes for the worse. Things happen that shape you.
I don’t believe anyone ever stays the same. Ever.
We are all victim to being shaped by things happening in our worlds. Again, it can be positive or negative. And the results can be the same or different in regard to positive and negative.
You deal with so many people in a lifetime, too. Those people can shape you for better or worse. Activities. Life. Anything can shape you.
So I am who I am because I am who I am.
How’s that for you?
You want to get all fancy with the words, do you, Mr. 50 Questions? Well I can do it, too, you see.
Even if you don’t see because you are a list of questions.
But you know what I’m saying. Kind of. Even I’m not sure.
I am me. It’s as easy as that. I have no reason why I am who I am other than it’s who I’ve become through things that have happened in life. And I’m OK with that, even if I’m not always OK with where I am in life. It’s all good. Things happen and we all move on.
So in the end, if someone comes up to me and says “Why are you, you?” — I can sum it up in two words.
Fundraiser: I am, again, trying to raise money for the Relay For Life. If you donate to me — even a small amount — you will be entered to win a super-sweet quilted scarf. Click here for all the information!
