A 'lil HooHaa

Messing with the blogging world since 2005

Did that really happen? Why yes, yes it did.

December 2, 2011

I’ve been all about exploring urban disc golf lately.

For those who don’t know, urban disc golf is basically where you set up a basket in some different urban or rural settings and try and make crazy shots to get the basket. It’s been fun to figure it out and eventually, it will help with the disc golf project a few of us are working on.

There’s urban disk golf, but then there’s simply some amazing stuff when it comes to Frisbee throwing in crazy places.

Like the video below.

This video has gone viral in just a few days and it’s with good reason. This is simply amazing.

To set it up, a person is on a bridge, throwing a Frisbee or ultimate disc or something along those lines out over the water. The ending is incredibly fantastic. Great camera work all around. This really is a great video.

I’ve seen this, in the past day or two, blogged about on major newspaper sites. It’s apparently been on the news all over the world. And, as of this writing, has nearly 2.5 million views!

It was uploaded Nov. 28.

Wow.

The thrown disc is really wild. But the end result? That person needs to be totally given props. Awesome stuff.

Without further adieu, allow me to show you this video.

As amazing as that is, I really encourage you to check out Brodie Smith’s YouTube channel. There more amazing trick shots with Frisbees. Obviously he’s not always perfect (He has some outtakes at the end of some of his videos). But check this video out for some Frisbee vs. Basketball action. Really quite wild. And when done, go check out his YouTube channel. Or save it for a day when it’s all gloomy outside and you want to spend some time watching videos!

Crazy, right?

I know the stuff we are filming will never be this wild, but hopefully our urban disc golfing can at least be entertaining!

I guess the April Fool's joke is on us, Mother Nat I guess the April Fool's joke is on us, Mother Nature? Oh .. ha ha ha.

I also guess this is why hitting back roads to work is good -- you can stop and take a photo and not worry about anybody coming (usually)! Main roads around here are fine for now, but it's definitely quite picturesque on the lawns/trees etc.

When I covered MiLB years ago for a small daily, managers sometimes wanted my opinion or asked me to talk to the scorekeeper about changing a ruling. There should be a happy medium somewhere now being most or all teams have video/TV. That wasn’t the case with the team I covered.

Another change to the minors is in store this year.

MLB informed minor league teams they will not be allowed to appeal rulings made by official scorers this year.

@jjcoop36 explains why:

I mean, if you hold a #Wrestlemania in an open stadium... eventually rain delays had to come, right? 🤣

28 years ago The Sandlot was released and this iconic scene was brought into our lives.
