It’s that time again!
And this time, I’m hoping for a better turnout.
When I was at the Vibram Open over Labor Day weekend, Nite Ize had a booth set up. Darren, of course, had been chatting with David, the salesperson who was there. After I chatted for a bit, I mentioned I was starting to do contests and he graciously donated a few items (the others will be given away down the line).
But this time, it’s the Nite Ize FlashFlight — an ultimate frisbee-style flying disc with an LED light in it. That means you can easily throw this at night.
How cool is that?
This is bigger than a normal frisbee or disc golf disc. It has a pretty wide rim, but no doubt could provide hours of fun. On the Nite Ize website, the disc retails for $24.99! This isn’t a cheapo disc, that’s for sure.
The construction on it is solid. Darren has one, so I have thrown them before and they are easy to throw and a whole heap of fun in the dark. It’s a different way to do disc golf, that’s for sure. (I probably should have purchased one myself, just to have. But that’s OK… maybe in the future! Plus, I got one of the Vibram Open LED mini discs for myself!)
Anyway, this contest is to bring you back to your youth.
Do you remember all those games at night you played as a kid during the summer? With no school and carefree fun? Kick the can. Ding-dong-ditch. Ghost in the Graveyard. And so many more.
Our town was so quiet and peaceful in the summer. At nights, most parents would let us roam a little later than normal. And in our neighborhood, there were a whole heap of kids.
We played all sorts of games. They ranged from the ones above to kiss tag to night baseball with flashlights and playing under streetlights or in the parking lot of a local drug store.
So go back to your youth.
What I require you to do for this contest is to think back to those games. What was your favorite? In the game, what were the rules and what did you have to do? And why was it your favorite?
Tell me and have fun with it!
This contest will, again, be a random draw for the winner. I find it’s the best way to decide the winner in things like this.
The winner receives the ultimate disc!
AND… if this contest gets 12 or more individuals entering, I’ll give a second-place prize, too. (That means 12 different people, not just 12 total entries as people can earn multiple entries). I will make the second-place prize the Nite Ize Clip, a cool little light that you can attach to a zipper or something else. (Note: The one I have is red, but I can’t seem to figure out how to turn it on to see it all glow up. I don’t want to detach it from its packaging).
So have fun. Tell your friends to enter. The more the merrier! If I start getting larger turnouts for these contests, I’ll figure more ways to give away second-place prizes.
The deadline for this is at 12:01 a.m. (Eastern) Sunday Oct. 2. Make sure you enter before then!
I’d also like to especially thank David for donating these products for the giveaway. I hope some people will be interested enough in maybe getting some other things off their website!
The contest: Night games.
How to win: You must post a comment on this post telling me about your favorite summer-time night game you played as a kid. Explain the game, what the rules were and why it’s your favorite.
Other ways to enter: You have to first do the main contest entry. After doing that, you can earn additional entries by doing the following (a person can do each one, but only once each. So you can earn a total of five entries into the contest.):
- Like A ‘lil HooHaa on Facebook (on the right side of the blog at the top of the page. If you have already liked the blog, let me know and I can give an entry that way, too).
- Write a post on your blog about this contest (make sure you let me know!)
- Tweet about this contest by copying and pasting the following:
A ‘lil HooHaa and @softball29 is having contest! Go to https://hoohaa.com/?p=2349 and enter! #hoohaablog #alilhoohaa #frisbee #contest #niteize
What can you win? The sweet Nite Ize LED disc!
Who can enter: This contest is open to anyone. (Note, this is a larger package — so if an international person wins and there are any customs, you will be responsible for it. I don’t know if there will be or not. Shipping is on me).
How decided? Random draw.
Entry deadline is 12:01 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time) Sunday, October 2. Results will be announced in a blog post here at noon on October 2.
