Love all these old pics. My mom has them at her house too and when I visit I go through them. Many of our older family members all had that same look.

Paul — when you mentioned the date and the teams, I was pretty sure I knew the game you were talking about. If I’m not mistaken, that was also big Ken’s final year playing. Definitely a cool one to be at. I’d have framed that scorecard!

When I was younger, I’d always buy a program and keep score of the game I was attending. I enjoyed it and I ended up being the official scorekeeper for our high school baseball team for a couple of years.

A friend of mine has kept one scorecard from his days of scorekeeping. The date was September 14th, 1990 and he had taken his family to the Big A in Anaheim to watch a late season game between the Seattle Mariners and the Angels.

The Angels went home winners that night by a score of 7-5, but the real story of the game was the three runs Seattle scored in the top of the first inning.

I almost want you to research it yourself, but to make it easier, let’s just say a father and son made history that day when they hit back to back home runs, the only time in major league history that has been accomplished.

Really nice overview of how to keep score the old fashioned way. I use to also buy the game book and write down all the plays and score on the scorecard.

Nowadays I just go for the beer and food!

It’s cooking back up in my part of the state. But those couple of days of cold weather were annoying!
